In the workshop

Most jobs on most cars, done properly.

Bring it in, tell us what it's doing, and we'll find out why. We keep you informed on the work that needs doing before we do it.

Inside the workshop: a Volkswagen estate waiting at the door while a Golf is up on the lift with a mechanic working underneath
  1. Servicing

Regular servicing to keep your car running properly, whatever you drive.

  2. Repairs

Engine faults, warning lights and the niggles that won't go away. We diagnose your car first, then fix what's actually wrong.

  3. Brakes

Pads, discs and the rest of the braking system, checked and sorted.

  4. Clutches

Slipping, juddering or heavy clutches replaced and set up right.

  5. Exhausts and welding

Blowing exhausts replaced, and welding done in the workshop.

  6. MOT prep work

Get the faults sorted before the test, so the MOT goes through first time. MOTs done here too.

  7. Batteries

Flat or failing battery? We'll test it and fit a new one if it needs it.

  8. CV joints

Clicking on full lock usually means a worn CV joint. We'll replace it.

Not sure what's wrong?

Who you'll deal with

Kam and the lads at Banktop Mill.

Railway Street Garage is run by Kamran Zaman, Kam to everyone who comes through the door. The workshop sits in Banktop Mill, the old stone mill on Railway Street in Burnley, with the lifts and the tyre bay under the big mill windows.

Whether it's a first car with the engine light on or something very special, it gets the same treatment. We tell you what needs doing, keep you informed while we do it, and give you the car back sorted.

“Over the years I have been using this garage I have built up trust for them in order for them to carry out work on a very special car that I have.”
Kosolu Reagan, a customer for three years

Everyday runarounds and serious motors.

From everyday cars to performance saloons and SUVs, they all come through the same door on Railway Street.

“It is the second time I have taken my car to get the M.O.T sorted at this garage other members of my family have recommended me to go. The staff here are very respectful; truthful and never let the client down especially me;I have never had any complaints about the garage on my behalf. The staff are honest, hardworking, kind hearted, understanding and have overall excellent knowledge about everything to do with motors and advice well with what I may need to make my car better and safer to drive. The staff are always on time. espcially if like me you are a busy lady that needs the.car. I look forward to taking my car here on its next M.OT”

“Never used this garage before but will be doing again in the future! Took my car in with an engine fault and Kam spent time diagnosing the problem and sorted. I then took my partners car with CV joint issues… again all done to a great standard. Kam is honest and straight forward and won’t rip you off like some garages I’ve used before”

“Had an issue with my car. Needed to visit the garage. Had an issue with my engine light. . I did a quick google search and found this place. I am a newbie when it comes to car stuff. My dad normally goes to sort it. The man who helped me with my car was so so SO lovely. He explained and also helped me understand what was going on with my car. Absolutely amazing company. Helpful wonderful people. Always got a smile on their face. I’m telling you now.. this needs to be your go-to garage. Amazing professional attitude! ❣️”

“What a superb garage I took my motor in for a proper once-over and they sorted everything with calm confidence and no faff at all. The lads were straight-talking, courteous, and clearly knew their trade inside out, which gave me real peace of mind. I’d been worried about a niggling fault turning into a costly headache, but they diagnosed it quickly, explained the fix in plain English, and had me back on the road without any drama. It’s rare to find a garage that feels this trustworthy and efficient. Top-notch service from start to finish, and I’d happily recommend them to anyone needing vehicle repairs done properly.”
